On a recent trip to New York City I was amazed by all of the musicians in Central Park. These are not your run of the mill street musicians but rather a very talented group. One guy we walked past played a different tune based on the people walking past him - like he would see a kid and start playing the Pink Panther theme. The sax player pictured here was working his way through Coltrane's "Body and Soul" , playing it like Dexter Gordon with that rough sultry tone and really nailing it. The tunnel's acoustics reinforcing the tough, slow melody which projected up into the park. Simply sublime.
Circles and holes and discs and mirrors - a visual feast presented in black and white.
Catching a cab in New York. This was taken from inside the sculpture garden at MoMA (Museum of Mordern Art). If you haven't had a cab ride in NYC you haven't lived - they drive fast with millimeter accuracy.
